Rachael Kane is a singer, songwriter and teacher of singing and self-expression based in Melbourne. She runs Connected Voice; a singing tuition studio that supports people to re-connect to their true voice and express who they truly are from within.
Her 20 years in the music industry as a pop music song writer, performer and singing teacher, have taught her much about the outer expectations of the world and the impact they can have on girls and young women. Her experience of this inspires her to write songs that support girls to develop a deep level of care and respect for themselves and to embrace their innate power and worth.
Rachael wrote the theme song for the 2015 Festival – Girl to Woman Song, takes the singing and expression workshop at the festival, and is a part of the festival Community Connections Team.
Girls and young women receive so many messages in the media, music and in life that don’t necessarily support them to be themselves. The Girl to Woman Festival brings awareness to some of the challenges girls and young women face in the world today, at the same time as celebrating and reflecting how deeply precious they are.”
