#WhoseRoleModelAreYou? is the hot-topic theme for this year’s G2W Festival, happening on the 22nd January 2017.
This theme engages the responsibility that we all have in positively impacting our girls’ (and in fact everyone’s) lives. It also gives emphasis to the fact that we can create change through our movements, behaviours and interactions with people. At its core we ask – what is your reflection? Is it inspiring, supportive and loving? Are the choices you make ones that you would want a young girl to see and be inspired to grow up to be? It is clear that this is a hot-topic theme, for it is calling us all to be responsible for the great power there is in our reflection.
Hence, the G2W Team decided to hit the streets and find out what people thought about the theme and the topic, as it encompasses us all. We asked members of the public of many ages and both genders the question - “What makes you a Role Model?” and as we all have qualities, attributes and/or behaviours that we know are true reflections of a Role Model – “What are the ones you live and represent?”

Each individual in our photo collection have decided on one word to define this – creating our Girl to Woman Festival Living Dictionary on ‘Role Models’.
Have you considered yourself a role model? Contribute to our dictionary and post a photo of you holding a sign with your chosen quality you reflect. And don’t forget to tag us - #G2WFestival17 #WhatMakesUARoleModel? and #WhoseRoleModelAreYou?
The Girl to Woman Festival is a community event, and we encourage the support of the local and international community to help engage in the movement to support girls (and everyone really) to be who they truly and preciously are – in order to have a world of women who are empowered, equal, precious and knowing of their inside worth.
Stunning photos captured by international photographer, Steffi Henn, and Melbourne-based photographer, Emilia Pettinato.
