Emmalee Benhayon is a trained Western Herbalist with an interest in aromatherapy, natural perfumery and cosmetics. Working full-time in a busy compounding pharmacy specialising in complementary health and cosmetic products free of harmful chemicals and allergens, Emmalee approaches the natural perfume and cosmetic industry with a wealth of knowledge and high level of integrity and care. She is also studying part-time at university with the aim to become a Pharmacist in the not too distant future.
She presents her highly popular perfume and body cream making workshops at each year's Girl to Woman Festival, with many sharing that it is their favourite part of the day.
For Emmalee, perfumes and cosmetics are not there to mask or improve our appearance or physical appeal but can be used to highlight and express the beauty within. In addition, she strongly holds the understanding that when made with integrity and ingredients that support true health and wellbeing, natural perfumes and body products can be used as part of our daily rituals to promote self-care and overall wellbeing.
I chose to be a part of The Girl to Woman Festival as it is such a powerful initiative that honours, respects and celebrates girls and women in a way that society sadly most often does not do on a whole. Being a young woman myself and experiencing the pressures that we place on our young girls and women as; girls, women, mothers, girlfriends, friends, wives etc... it is such a blessing to be part of something that supports girls and women to let go of the pictures of what they are told they “should” be and allow them to just “be” who they naturally are from the inside out.” ~ Emmalee Benhayon
