Irene Horn is currently working as an owner/driver of a school bus service in Tenterfield, NSW and is also a board member at Moombahlene Local Aboriginal Land Council. She has qualifications in youth work, counselling and community services.
Through Irene's experiences of being a foster child and also a foster parent, Irene loves to throw her heart and Soul into helping young people to see their full potential. She supports them to empower, love and respect themselves and to take advantage of opportunities to grow in their life's journeys, always within a positive and safe environment.
Irene loved the experience of The Girl to Woman Festival in Lennox Head in early 2017, which 10 Tenterfield girls attended with her and two other Elders. She decided to join The Girl to Woman Team to bring this amazing festival to the whole Tenterfield community, so everyone could benefit and enjoy a great day. A dream of hers is to have this Festival in more towns around Australia.
In every person's life journey there comes a moment... in this moment you decide who you are and who you want to be, this is empowering. With the support of local role models, together we can shape, protect and guide young people in a positive way, so young people can fulfil their potential." ~ Irene Horn
