SOCIAL MEDIA AND THE PRESSURES ON YOUNG PEOPLE - A DISCUSSION GROUP FOR PARENTS

After a big turnout at the Social Media for Parents presentation during the recent Girl to Woman Festival, Rebecca Asquith and Simon Asquith along with Helen Simkins will be offering an opportunity for parents and carers to look in-depth into how we can best support young people as they traverse the world of social media.

The topics open for discussion will include looking at the effects on body image, anxiety levels, relationships with peers, level of internet use and how they can best be supported to deal with the cyber abuse that they witness or are subjected to. Parents understandings of social media platforms and the support needed will also be discussed.
